In this “cold winter” market situation in the mobile phone industry, Huawei’s shipments in 2019 increased by 35.5%, an increase of 37.2 million mobile phones compared to 2018. It has achieved growth against the trend, while other manufacturers such as Apple, OPPO, Xiaomi, vivo, etc. have all declined to varying degrees.
In terms of market share, Huawei’s mobile phone market in 2019 reached 38.5%, about twice as much as the second place. In addition, in 2020, 5G will be the main development point of smartphones. According to a report by the market research firm Strategy Analytics, the global 5G smartphone shipments reached 18.7 million units last year, and the demand is much higher than expected. Among them, Huawei accounted for nearly 37% of the market with 6.9 million 5G mobile phone shipments. Almost all shipments are concentrated in the Chinese market, and the more popular models include the Mate 20X 5G and Mate 30 Pro 5G versions.
But at the same time, Strategy Analytics executive director Neil Mawston also mentioned that the upcoming 5G Model of Apple’s iPhone will still be the most anticipated smartphone of the year.
